I was involved in the Cirkus Exquisite Corpse 15 , made in just ONE week for the Cannes Workshop. Crazy hours put in, but epic result. I helped in coordinating the Cirkus team back in Auckland with Chris Lyne, and transformed the dog into “Hell Dog”, as well as designing the Hell environment by painting the BG Mattes.
Two awesome animators working on this, without these guys there’s no way we would’ve made it in one week.
Here’s two of the raw Mattes. I split these layouts into 3D Layers in AE, and exported the camera move from maya to match it up.
Produced: Meg Thompson + Craig Sinclair / Comp: Daniel Wu / Cellophane Fire: Toni Chase / Animators: Scott Wilkinson + Boris Plateau / Rendering, Dog Rigging, Shot Setups, Everything Else: Chris Lyne.
This is my latest reel, showcasing the work I’ve been doing for the past 4 years at Cirkus Animation. Lots of fun projects. Cirkus specializes in mix and match animation techniques, and a playful sense of the awesome.
If you need a breakdown, please contact me on the email in the video.
Here’s some concept art I did for Cirkus a while back, for a car commercial. This was a paint over a simple greyscale render taken from Maya, to get the right perspective. I took a free car model and dumped them in the gap in the center.
